My Experience In Samoa - Anthony

I went to both islands in Samoa to see my family for Christmas; in both Upolu and Saveai. As soon as we got off the plane it was incredibly hot. We got onto the back of the ute which was really cool. We could feel the wind in our hair as we drove and was something we weren't allowed to do in Australia. In the restaurants, we drank heaps of coconut juice, which is really common in Samoa. The homes there have no walls and the floors are all rock with no mats, so it was really different to my home in Australia.

For food, we ate a lot of taro leaves with meat and vegetables. One special Samoan dish I ate is called Oka, which is raw fish with coconut cream. A special Samoan beverage we would drink is called Otai, which is a mixed fruit drink. For fun, we would go visit the beaches and waterfalls. The beaches there are really beautiful; the water is sparkling blue and has an amazing reflection of the gleaming sun. The waterfalls look like a forest made of water; they spill over from really up high and are amazing to look at. I had heaps of fun visiting Samoa and I really think that you should also visit to have an enjoyable time.
